How to Pull Lis Pendens County Data for Lake County, IL

The fields you get

• Grantor (lender)
• Grantee (homeowner)
• Recorded date
• Document number
• Legal description
• Property address
• Parcel number

Follow these 7 steps

   Open the Lake County advanced search

   Go to the Lake County Advanced Search. No login is needed.

   Enter the dates

   Scroll to Recorded Date Range. Enter your start date. For the end date, use the Certified through date shown there.

   Pick the document type

   In Document Types, type LIS PEND. Check LIS PENDENS. Do not check RELEASE-LIS PENDENS.

   Run the search

   Click Search at the bottom of the screen. The total shows at the top.

   Switch to the table view

   Click the list icon to the left of Export all Results. Close the black help box if it covers the page.

   Find the addresses

   Scroll the table to the right. You will see Property Address and Parcel Number.

   Copy your records

   Copy the rows into your spreadsheet. Use Results Per Page or the next page to reach the rest.

Watch out for these

• Export all Results asks you to sign in. We did not test an account. Without one, you copy the rows.
• If you skip the document type check, you get every recording in those dates. We saw 5,558 rows that way.
• Some rows have a state agency as Grantor, such as ILLINOIS DEPT TRANS. Check these before you treat them as foreclosures.
